FEIT IT ServicesFacilities ▶ Labs

The Faculty of Engineering and IT manage more than 30 different laboratories with computing resources in Building 11, with specialist Labs dedicated to various purposes and groups.

Students will need to use their student cards, available from the Student Administration Centre in Building 10, to gain entry into FEIT labs. The card access is only activated for students whom have completed their FEIT Safety Induction on UTS Online, which is required once a year.

A number of labs are available to support core teaching activities for faculty academics, the majority of which are found on Level B1 of the Broadway Building. Outside of classes they are available to students 24hrs with card access.

The FEIT Learning Precinct (FLP) is located in Building 11 on Level 5, Room 300 and consists of a vast space separated into sections for students, including group pods, lounges, desks, capstone study areas and meeting rooms with smart boards and projector access.

One lab on Level 6, the "Graphics" Lab, is a restricted space dedicated to students enrolled in certain subjects focused on CAD Graphics and Game Design.

On level 7 of the Broadway Building, 4 labs in adjacent spaces are allocated primarily to networking related subjects and accommodate all the specialised networking equipment required for them.

The remaining labs are specialist Embedded Digital Systems, Control Lab, LAN projects lab, Mechanical and systems labs that are designed with additional support infrastructure for specific sections of an engineering degree and are introduced to students as required by their studies.
